Basil Oil

Bright flavor, gorgeous color, endless possibilities!


Avocado Ranch Dressing

This condiment can brighten any dish or upgrade any flavor profile. Double or triple the quantities easily.


Equipment: dry and wet measuring cups; blender


Ingredients: 2 cups packed basil leaves

½ cup olive oil 1. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the basil leaves, and cook submerged in the water for 10 seconds.


2. Strain the basil leaves in a colander and rinse under cold running water.


3. Squeeze the water from the basil leaves and add the basil to a blender.



4. Add ¼ cup olive oil to the blender. With the motor running, slowly add the remaining ¼ cup olive oil until the basil is thoroughly blended, about 1 minute.


5. Store refrigerated in a glass jar.

Makes approximately ¾ cups.
